1 cup margarine 1/4 cup shortening 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 1/2 cup sugar 1 egg 1 cup flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 6 tablespoons cocoa 1/4 cup water 3 cups rolled quick oats 12 ounces chocolate chips |

| Cream margarine, shortening and vanilla. Add sugar and cream until fluffy. Add egg and beat vigorously. Blend next 4 ingredients and add alternately with water to creamed mixture, beating well. Add oats gradually, then chocolate chips, mixing well until blended. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. |
