Meal type: Dinner
Ethnicity:
Number of Servings: 4
Ingredients:
0.5 each lbs. fully cooked boneless smoked ham, as needed - whole cloves
0.5 cups brown sugar
0.5 teaspoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon Sunkist® grapefruit peel -- finely grated
2 tablespoon Sunkist® freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Place ham, fat or rind side up, on rack in shallow roasting pan.
Score ham fat in diamonds about 1/4 inch deep. Insert a whole clove in the center of each diamond.
Combine brown sugar, mustard, Sunkist grapefruit peel and juice in small bowl to make glaze.
Ladle 2 tablespoons of glaze over ham.
Cook ham, uncovered, in oven for approximately 30 minutes until ham is heated through, brushing with glaze every 10 minutes.
Carve and drizzle any remaining glaze over slices. Serve.
Serving Ideas : This glaze can also be used on larger and/or uncooked hams. Bake ham and during last 30 minutes of cooking time, brush glaze on ham every 10 minutes.
To save space in the oven, sweet potatoes can be placed around ham in roasting pan. Place 1 1/2 pounds of cooked and peeled (or canned) sweet potatoes, cut in pieces, around ham. Ladle glaze over ham and potatoes, place in preheated oven, then cook for 30 minutes, brushing with glaze every 10 minutes.
