4 OZ turkey, ground 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil 1 pinch 1/8 black pepper 1/2 teaspoon garlic chopped 2 tablespoons onion chopped 2 tablespoon green bell pepper chopped 1 teaspoon jalapino, diced, canned 1 pinch chili powder 1 pinch cumin - ground 2 tablespoons beef broth - low sodium 3 tablespoons tomato sauce - no added sodium 1/4 cup tomato chopped 1/2 cup black beans 1/2 cup kidney beans |

| In a deep skillet or stew pot, brown ground turkey in oil over high heat. Add black pepper. Reduce to medium heat when meat is browned and crumbled. Drain off grease. Return meat to stove-top. Add garlic, onion, green peppers and jalapenos to meat. Add chili powder and cumin; mix thoroughly. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until vegetables are crisp. Stir in broth, tomato sauce, tomatoes and black beans. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat. Simmer for 30 minutes. Remove chili from heat and stir in cilantro and green onions. Serve with crackers on the side. |
