1. Put the rice into a pan with 250ml (8fl oz, 1 cup) boiling water.Bring back to the boil, then cover, reduce heat, and leave to simmer.

Spray the bottom of a large, heavy-lidded pot with nonstick spray.Heat to medium heat and saute onion rings and garlic.
Add rice and stir to brown lightly.
