1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
Add chives and cheddar, tossing to combine. Stir in cream with a fork until sticky dough forms.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead eight times with floured hands.
Divide dough in half and form into two-7 inch rounds. Brush the tops of rounds with additional cream and cut each into eight wedges.

4 C all purpose flour1/2 C sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
4 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
2 C raisins
1 1/2 C buttermilk
Directions:
In a large bowl, mix all dry ingredients first.Add raisins and then the liquids.
Knead dough slightly on a floured board.
Place in a greased and floured cast iron skillet.
With the side of your hand, make 2 depressions in the form of a cross on top of the bread.
Place in a heated oven at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
